There are a lot of girls that say that they can only cum when they're on top. I can barely cum when I'm on top, but penetration when I'm on my back, or doggy style gets me almost instantly. Every girl is really different. And it's different with different partners. I don't like it too deep, and I find a lot of guys try for that.
I had one guy whose penis was so big that it hurt no matter what, and we ended up only being able to spoon, because it wouldn't go in more than an inch in the position we were in.
Also the rhythm and way that you move your hips can change how a position feels. There is straight in and out, then there is doing it more in a circular motion, and then there is short rapid thrusts, and then the longer thrusts. I obviously can't answer for the women, but I'd like to add that every guy's penis curves differently, and for penetrative sex, the curvature of your penis makes a big difference in the girl's pleasure! I have a somewhat... unique curvature, and so it took me a long time to discover this. I can't complain, though, since if I had discovered this earlier, I wouldn't have had as much motivation to work on my oral technique.
In short, think about angles. The G-spot is in the front of the vagina, a few inches in (a good way to find out where exactly is to explore with your hands and find out where she enjoys it most). You want the head of your penis to be scraping across that when you thrust. Whatever position does that best will likely be the one that works best. But like all things sexual and pirate code, this isn't so much a rule as a guideline.

Women like different positions and, from what I hear, which position feels best may change depending on the guy and how the couple fits together.
I would suggest that when you are first getting to know a girl, use positions that give her some control. Then she won't be worried and if you go too fast, she can move away. You should probably also stick to positions where you can see each other's faces and feel intimate. Then as you get to know her, ask her which positions she likes best.

I think this is a personal question and you need to ask your partner or the girl you're hooking up what feels best for them. What may feel amazing for me may not do anything for another girl. Our bodies are unique and it may take some time to get to know what works for your girl. Just tell her that you want to please her and ask what things you can do to make your sexual relationship more enjoyable.
