Guys - What is with the Money Shot?
So guys, most of us watch porn, and typically, in mainstream porn, the ending of the scene tends to be the same. The guy cums on the girl's face, and she treats the cum like candy. As a girl, I have tasted cum, and although you can get used to the taste, it is definitely NOT candy.
So tell me, if this is a common theme in mainstream porn, does that mean that men actually like this? Do you fantasize about cumming on a girl's face? Does this part of the scene turn you on? What are your theories on why this is so common?

I agree, the "facial" cumshot is the product of porn making it seem cool to lots of men. I would be interested to know if there's any evidence that it even existed before the era of video porn. It does seem absolutely bizarre that a passionate sexual act should be terminated before conclusion so the man can masturbate onto the woman's face. Many women online write about how a man's coming in their vaginas excites them, and more than a few say that it frequently triggers an orgasm for them. How can a guy with any sense bypass something that might just make a woman come with him? Freud said lots of BS about sex, but his criticism of coitus interruptus as a bad thing for women was apt, I think. I have seen amateur videos where the man pulls out as soon as he feels the possibility of an orgasm, foreclosing the possibility of vaginal orgasm so he can finish with up to 5 minutes of masturbation (or sometimes, fellatio) and ejaculate onto the woman's face. That has disgusted me so much that it has cured me of watching that stuff.

What I want to explore first is the direction of influence between pornography and the sex that society is having. From what I understand about people who enjoy porn (sorry, I'm not one of them [I'll be honest, I've seen 3 porns that I liked and a 4th that I only enjoyed 1 scene of]) is that part of what is so exciting about watching it is that it is something that you don't do every time you have sex. This logic makes sense when you think about other movies that you enjoy watching. So what I believe is that porn directors try to get things on tape that most people don't do, people watch them and want to imitate what they see, and then porn changes and evolves.
As for the money shot and me (*sigh* that sounds like a terrible book), when I see it in porn, it ruins what the people have built to. Like, you've spend all sorts of time and energy for the dude to have an orgasm (one that's not faked) and then you make him finish by jerking off. They can't have the intimate moment of a man coming in a woman (a feature that of 2 of the 3 of the porns that I liked have).
Now, in practice, I'll admit that I see what scarlettewiththerope sees in the money shot. I like coming on my girlfriend the same way that she likes to come on me. It's so cool to take half a step back and see what an orgasm is to your partner and what their body is going through; having fluids on you is that connection between the two of you when you're at that distance and it's pretty nice. I'll admit that I've never finished on her face, but that's more of an issue of cleaning up (and keeping semen out of her eyes) than of anything else. If we get the same experience if I finish on her stomach, there's no reason to risk eye irritation to ruin the party.

It's a power trip moment. Maybe it's because I'm a submissive, I don't know, but most of the guys I've been with have loved to cum on my face, maintaining eye contact while doing so. I enjoy the intensity of the moment, and knowing that by doing something so simple I can please the person I'm with so much. I don't know! To me the money shot is the worst of most porn. It is so contrived: we are f***ing, we are f***ing, "oh I am going to cum", stop, girl gets on her knees and waits impatiently for at least a minute while the guy jerks off on her face.
I have never came on a girl's face and have no desire to. It is silly there is so much more pleasure to be had elsewhere.

It's a good question. I've never really thought into why men like this so much. Is it because so many men see it on mainstream porn that they desire to do it in their real lives?
Or is it the opposite?
Is there something about us men that just love the "money shot" and in result we see it all the time on porn?
What came first (no pun intended)? The chicken or the egg?
I think at this point that us guys see it so often on porn it's just like hey, that looks like fun, I want to do that. I also enjoy looking at a girls face while fooling around and having sex. I think that's why people like to have sex in mirrors or stare at their partner while having sex. So maybe this is an extension of that. Having a girl look at you as she takes your manhood straight to the face?
I really don't know.
