I love Craigslist. There, I said it. I read the missed connections, and I read the casual encounters (mainly the m4w). I also post in the casual encounters section whenever I feel the urge and none of my current lovers is available.

Craiglist is a veritable goldmine of fun, in a number of different ways. Whenever I post looking for a casual hookup, I like to count how many cock shots I get overall. It's always fascinated me why guys send women shots of their penis. As a woman, I don't give a shit. A cock is a cock is a cock. If it works, and is disease free, we are good to go. Also, a photo of your cock tells me NOTHING about what you might be like in bed, except that you think that sending me that shot is enough to win me over. It's not. In fact, anyone who replies to my CL ad with a cock shot gets deleted (I often wish my computer would flash a giant DELETED! sign at me with Strong Bad's voice whenever I do this).

Following cock shots, anyone who replies and doesn't know what grammar and spelling are, gets deleted (unless you also followed my rule about attaching a face shot, and I can see that English is probably not your first language). After that, if you reply to me and give me body stats and the oh-so-generic line "I'm interested, hit me back!" you're deleted. Of course you're interested, you and every other desperate guy on CL is interested. Give me something to work with here guys! For the most part, I don't give a shit what you look like because your personality is much more important to me. I dig men with brains and senses of humour. Show me you've got some and you'll probably get a reply, it's that simple.

Some stats: Out of the 70+ replies I received from my last Craiglist adventure, I replied to...wait for it...5! That's atrocious. I know that more than 5 of those replies were most likely decent guys, but you present yourselves in all the wrong ways!

I know you probably think that the ads from women are bots or spam, but they're not always! It really doesn't take much to write a decent reply to a CL ad. Mention things from the ad, to prove you actually read it! Attach a shot of your face! Show some personality! Mention your interests or what you like in bed (though please do not send me your version of erotica!). Try to come across as a human being and not some asshole who is going to make me feel like hooking up with you was the worst possible choice I could have made.
