Leftos was created as a place where men and women can anonymously share advice, experiences, and lessons learned about the opposite sex. We understand that protecting your privacy and the personal information you disclose is extremely important. We take this very seriously—your privacy is our priority. This policy applies only to information collected at Leftos.com and does not cover third parties that Leftos does not control or own, or individuals that Leftos does not employ. By visiting Leftos.com, you are accepting the practices and guidelines stated in this Privacy Policy.
Information Collection and Use
In order to sign up for Leftos we require a few specific pieces of information. This information allows us to provide you with a greater, more custom experience on Leftos. It also helps to form the basic information in your user profile. Our goal is to create a place where you can learn and share information about male and female interactions, and the information we collect is consistent with that goal.
1. Information Collected Upon Sign Up
During the Leftos sign up process we require 3 pieces of information:
a. User Name - We encourage that you choose an anonymous username to further protect your identity and your privacy. An anonymous username gives you the freedom to post honest, open, and unbiased content without the fear of embarrassment or judgment based on your actual identity.
b. Password - When you first create your password on Leftos, it’s encrypted and then securely and privately stored away in our database. This process ensures that you are the only individual with access to your password, and therefore your Leftos account. Because it’s encrypted, even we can’t see your password.
c. Your Email Address – We require that you submit a valid email address during the sign up process. This requirement is set in place for security purposes and to help us better communicate with you. Leftos may contact you with important site updates, news, information about products and services associated with Leftos, and notifications. These notifications can be turned off by accessing the settings tab within your user profile. Leftos may still contact you to inform you of updates that we consider necessary. We understand that your email address is personally identifiable information and therefore promise to protect this information to the best of our abilities.
2. Additional Information
After completing the sign up process and validating your email address, you will be asked to create your Leftos account. This process will ask information that will be displayed in your user profile. We only require that you disclose their gender, relationship status, and age. This is information that other users may find important when viewing content created by you on Leftos. You also have the option to include more information in your profile such as your interests, occupation, relationship experience, and other personal information. Leftos is an anonymous system, therefore no personally identifiable information, such as your email address, will be disclosed by us in your profile. Any optional information you disclose in your profile is at your discretion. Remember, the information contained in your Leftos profile will be available to us as well as to all other member of the Leftos community.
3. Log Data
When you visit the Leftos, we automatically record information referred to as “Log Data”. This Log Data is collected for all Leftos users and includes information such as your IP address, browser type, the search terms you use, and other similar pieces of information. We use Log Data to help measure site analytics and learn how our users interact with our website. Understanding the behavior of our users allows us to continuously improve Leftos and deliver a more unique and beneficial user experience.
Like many other websites, we may also store a cookie on your computer to collect additional information and statistics about your usage on Leftos. This cookie cannot be used to provide more information about your identity, unless you explicitly provide that information to us or your web browser automatically provides that information. This cookie allows Leftos to recognize you on each visit and automatically signs you in without having to manually enter your username and password.
4. Data Use
As our site continues to accumulate data, we may provide certain third parties such as, but not limited to, advertisers, media outlets, and research institutions with statistics and relevant data that we have collected. This data will not contain any personally identifiable information without first obtaining your authorization to include it, except as specifically described in this policy.
We may also choose to utilize certain third parties to perform services including, but not limited to, hosting and maintenance, customer relationship management, marketing and advertising, and analytics. If required, and only if pursuant to binding contractual obligations with the third party to maintain privacy and security, we may share your personally identifiable information in order to utilize these services.
Children Under the Age of 18
You must be at least 13 years old to register for Leftos. Therefore, Leftos does not knowingly collect any information about children under the age of 13. If at any point we learn that a child under the age of 13 has provided us with any information, we will immediately delete that information from our records. Due to the nature of our content, and that in some cases content of a sexual nature may be displayed, we strongly recommend that minors between the ages of 13 and 18 ask and receive their parents' permission before using Leftos. Compliance with the Law
In the event that we are required by Law, or to cooperate with any government agencies, regulations, or any other such organizations, Leftos may disclose any information we have collected about you. Business Transfer
If at any point Leftos is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or other type of sale of assets, it is likely that all data, including your information, may be transferred.
